Where did your love of books/storytelling/reading/writing/etc. come from?
My fourth grade teacher started me on the road to wanting to be an author by giving us weekly writing assignments. She would give the class the first line of a story and each of us had to write our own story to go with her first line.
I can still recall how silly excited I got each week when it was time for her to reveal our starting story line.
What kind(s) of writing do you do?
I’m a contemporary romance writer. And I’ve been known to dabble in humorous paranormal romance.
What cultural value do you see in writing/reading/storytelling/etc.?
Reading is a vacation for the brain. Your brain gets to pack-up and travel to new places and meet new people and not worry about any of the things it usually spends time worrying about.
When your brain goes on vacation, you come back to reality a happier person. Thus reading makes the world happier.
What do you think most characterizes your writing?
Humor and sex are my promise to you as a reader.
What was the hardest part of writing this book?
The hardest part for me is the first few pages. I’m always second guessing myself on where to start a story. The next hardest part is the edits.
What did you enjoy most about writing this book?
The bones of this book were a hoot to work with. It’s set in Las Vegas. There are sex toys. And a seduction is taking place. I mean – what’s not to love about writing a story with all of those elements.
Are you a full-time or part-time writer? How does that affect your writing?
I’m currently a part-time writer. My plan is to be full-time by this time next year. Being a part-time writer means I have very little free-time for other things. And I can’t make my career happen as fast as I want it to happen.
What do you like to read in your free time?
I love to read Regency Romances. The authors who write them amaze me, because they have a whole other layer, research, involved in trying to write a great book.
What projects are you working on at the present?
I am currently working on book two in this series. It will be called: The Distraction of Adeline Foster. In it, Kinley’s big brother finds love.
What book do you wish you could have written?
I wish I had written: Firefly Lane. That is my favorite. My daughter’s favorite. My sister’s favorite. And the list goes on. It is a book I give to others at Christmas, because I want them to have the joy of having read the book and experiencing the rollercoaster of emotions the story takes the reader on.
Just as your books inspire authors, what authors have inspired you to write?
The success of Darynda Jones and Janet Evanovich inspire me to stay true to my voice. There is a readership for funny and snarky characters.
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
If I had a superpower, it would be to write a first draft that didn’t need editing. 
If you were a superhero, what would your name be? What costume would you wear?
I would be known as: Super Nice. And my costume would be a cloak that said: Be Nice.
And anywhere there was a bully interacting with a victim, I’d show up and zap them with niceness. (Have I mentioned I work in a middle school as a counselor?)
Where is one place you want to visit that you haven’t been before?
I want to go on a Mediterranean cruise.
What is something you want to accomplish before you die?
I want to be a New York Times bestselling author.
